Being part of an esteemed association means you will need to complete CPD (Continuing Professional Development) hours to progress your knowledge and keep up-to-date. Continuing Professional Development shows members’ commitment to the industry and thus we require our members to participate in annual completion of the extracurricular tasks. The APE requires members to continually seek new quality knowledge and skills in order to demonstrate their best efforts within the industry of planning engineers.

Members must adhere to completion of annual CPD, regardless of their membership ranking: it is a requirement for all members. Similarly, members must keep a log of their CPD hours and take it upon themselves to choose appropriate learning outcomes relevant to their career. Members must comply to the CPD policy requirements, since this is an agreement of their membership terms.

All CPD undertaken must be relevant to your current practicing role and must meet the minimum requirement for annual hours of structured learning and development. CPD is progressive and can improve knowledge in both career aspects and personal aspects. It is important to approach your CPD with professionalism and ensure it is attributing towards your industry expertise.

From time to time we may sample members’ CPD activities. This is to ensure our members are carrying out relevant CPD research and tasks in order to encourage active learning throughout our institution. However, members will be informed prior if this is the case.
